ASTERIA STAR GOLD DIAMOND NECKLACE

Asteria is DOVIA’s interpretation of the falling star that briefly pierces the sky, leaving a trail of light in its wake. Inspired by Asteria, a figure associated with falling stars in ancient Greek mythology, the design comes to life with 0.22 Ct G-VS-SI diamonds set on 14K rose gold. The five-pointed star represents Asteria’s celestial essence, while the two diamond-set rays cascading downwards symbolize the trail she leaves across the sky. The arrangement of diamonds in varying sizes, extending from the star to its tail, recreates the moving light of a star within the design. In Asteria’s story, light does not vanish; it merely changes form, leaving a lasting trail behind. For this reason, the piece symbolizes transformation, intuition, freedom, and leaving a mark with one’s own light.

STORY

Asteria Star

In ancient Greek mythology, Asteria is the Titan goddess of falling stars. Her name derives from the word astēr, meaning “star,” and represents the starlight that pierces the darkness of night. She is also associated with signs from the stars and prophetic dreams. According to legend, Asteria cast herself from the sky into the waters of the Aegean, reaching the earth like a falling star. Ultimately, she transformed into an island, so her light was not lost, but merely changed form. Once a star in the sky, she became an enduring mark on the earth. DOVIA’s Asteria design captures this moment of descent. The five-pointed star represents Asteria’s celestial essence, while the two diamond-set rays extending from it symbolize the trail of light she leaves behind. Each diamond shines like a small fragment of light broken from the star’s journey. Asteria tells the story of light that does not vanish, but continues to live on by changing form. For this reason, she is the star of transformation, intuition, freedom, and leaving light behind. Some stars remain in the sky. Asteria falls and becomes a legend.
